Time Off & Absences
Attendance policy
Here’s the updated Detail Cleaning Services attendance policy, effective immediately
Overview
Employees at Detail Cleaning Services are expected to be present at work on time, every day. Late arrivals and absences may cause delays to our operation.
1. Vacation
5 days per year for full-time employees (Available upon completion of 12 months of work)
Vacation days are paid as follows:
An average payment for the last 3 months is determined and you receive that amount for the 5 days of vacation. Example: if the average weekly payment for the last 3 months is $600, you will receive that amount for your vacation.
2. Paid Time Off
After an employee’s second anniversary year of employment, compensation for PTO will be distributed under the following schedule based on the employee’s hire date:
PTO days are accumulated as follows:
2 years: 2 paid PTO days + 5 vacation days + paid birthdays
3 years: 3 paid PTO days + 5 vacation days + paid birthdays
4 years: 4 paid PTO days + 5 vacation days + paid birthdays
5 years: 5 paid PTO days + 5 vacation days + paid birthdays
Paid time off will be paid on the next regular paycheck employee receives after requesting paid time off.
Paid Time Off is earned but cannot be used until after 24 months of employment. Employees terminated for any reason before the first 24 months will not be owed PTO. Any unused Paid Time Off at time of termination of employment will be forfeited/lost before 2nd year anniversary of employment.
3. Unpaid Time Off
In addition to paid time off, employees are permitted to use a maximum of 8 days unpaid time off per year, given on the same schedule as paid time off. Employee shall file the time off request and determine if it will be a paid or unpaid time off. The request for time off is still subject for approval.
Time off may be used in one-hour increments. All incremental use of leave is subject to the same notice requirements.
4. Time Off Requests
When requesting PTO or unpaid time off, you must give notice 7 days in advance to qualify for approval and use the Time Off Request form. Less than 7 days notice for vacation/personal time counts as an unscheduled absence and will result in an attendance infraction.

If an employee reports am illness for which he/she needs to miss work, the employee must provide a written doctor’s note to excuse the absence within ten days of the absences. For foreseeable sick time, such as a routine doctor’s appointment, Employees are required to give 7 days advance notice. For unforeseeable sick time, Employees are required to report illness at least two hours before his/her scheduled shift.
5. Attendance Infractions
Employees are required to report unscheduled absences by calling the office, which will count towards an attendance infraction. After exhausting the employee’s balance of days off, whether paid or unpaid, any absences will be considered an “unscheduled absence” and will merit an attendance infraction.
Failure to comply with attendance or notice requirements may be subject to disciplinary action up to, and including termination.
Exceeding 8 days of NON-approved absences 7 days in advance in a 12-month period will result in immediate termination. Exceeding 4 unapproved absences during your first 6 months of employment will result in immediate termination.
Arriving at your first home after 8:30 AM is considered a tardy. Two tardies equal one absence. You must call and inform the office if you will be late.
6. No-call No-show
Employees must report each unscheduled day they are absent. Failure to call-off two hours prior to a shift will result in a no call-no show. If an employee is a no call-no show for two or more consecutive days it will be considered a job abandonment, or termination without notice.
7. Exceptions
Employees may request exceptions for absences from human resources and management. These must be approved on a case-by-case basis. Exceptions may be granted for funerals, jury duty, bereavement, childbirth, a car accident, medical appointments, and unavoidable emergencies. In these cases, employees must provide documentation to prove a reason for the absence.
If you expect chronic absenteeism or other obstacles to performing your job for medical reasons, please contact human resources and management to make arrangements for accommodations.
