Etiquette

A Helping Attitude

A positive attitude and a smile will take you a long way.  You may even find that you can even disagree with people with a positive attitude and a smile, and they can still come out of the conversation feeling like it was a “win, win”.  So, smile and be happy.  All forms of work can be tough at times (that’s why they call it “work”), but the sign of a professional is someone who can always manage to keep a positive smiling attitude.

Be proactive

Clients like to know that you care about your job and the service that you provide.  And, one great way to demonstrate that is to be proactive and periodically ask for feedback from the customer.  You may not always want to hear the truth, but “Wow” can you build loyal customers by being willing to seek out and act on client feedback. As an added bonus, you may start getting more tips because your clients love how well you communicate with them.

Arriving at the home

The first thing we ask is to please do not park in the driveway. There are many reasons for this. Firstly, clients may be leaving which will require you to have to exit the home to move your car. Secondly, you may or may not know that your car is leaking oil. Even if it doesn’t leak, a client might see a spot in their driveway and may accuse the cleaner of leaving those spots – better to be safe than sorry! We would like you to park on the side of the road next to the home if possible unless the client states otherwise.

A lot of times, homes are empty when we arrive. You may have either a key, keypad or garage code listed in the notes in your Service Autopilot app for entry.

Keeping supplies neat, organized, & clean

We pride ourselves on being polite, professional, and presentable at all times before, during, and after cleaning. We ask everyone to please take 5 minutes when loading your supplies back into your car and tidy up, clean, or wipe down any of your supplies that require it. This will help cut down on the frustration of not knowing where anything is, and in the chance of a client passing by your car while your trunk is open, your vehicle should be presentable.

Your vehicle is a reflection of the quality of service you are providing – if there are empty food containers and trash throughout your car, it gives a poor impression of the quality of service we provide. We know you try hard and do fantastic work, so we want to make sure both you and the company are being represented to others in the best way possible.

Phone etiquette

We do run the entire schedule on an app on your cellphone. But because of this, we need you to remember not to be on your phone unless it is necessary for the job (IE: contacting the office, viewing job notes, setting a timer). Phones are a big distraction and using them while in a client’s home can be seen as bad practice – we do receive complaints from clients about phone usage, so please be aware. Additionally, using your phone when it is not necessary greatly affects the potential for you to earn more money.
